General Secretary Kim Jong Il enjoyed a performance given by the members of the art groups of families of servicemen of Unit 529 and the Navy Command of the KPA who participated in the second round of the second-term contest among art groups of families of KPA servicemen.

They put on the stage poem reciting "Oh, Fireworks Heralding the Emergence of a Thriving Nation," quartet "Cuckoo on the Road to the Front", drum beating and song "Let´s Dash towards Thriving Nation Like the Wind" and other colorful numbers of diverse genres.

Through the performance they enthusiastically sang of their honor of living and struggling full of great pride and self-confidence of being cooks of the supreme command and fully demonstrated unshakable faith and will of the families of the servicemen of the KPA to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution and surely win a final victory of the Korean revolution, standing in the same trench with their husbands all out in the struggle to defend the country at the cost of their lives.

Kim Jong Il highly appreciated their successful performance, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that the members of the above-said art groups staged a splendid performance clear in the political import of its theme as they give solutions to the socio-political issues in the Songun era.

All the numbers put on the stage are of great cognitional and instructive significance as they make a profound ideological and artistic clarification of important issues arising in the struggle and life of the people in the Songun era by depicting the essential and significant aspects of the life, firmly based on the reality, he noted, highly praising them for having successfully created and staged peculiar works.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by the families of servicemen of the KPA, noting that they are beloved and trustworthy women revolutionaries who sincerely help their husbands in their revolutionary work, dedicating themselves to the prosperity of the country, not working for their families´ happiness only.

Among the audience were KPA General Kim Jong Gak, first vice director of the KPA General Political Bureau, KPA Generals Hyon Chol Hae, Ri Myong Su and Kim Won Hong and Col. General Han Tong Gun and other commanding officers of the KPA, Secretary of the WPK Central Committee Kim Ki Nam, Department Directors of the WPK Central Committee Jang Song Thaek, Choe Ik Gyu and Kim Yang Gon and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee.
