Statement of the Spokesman for the North Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration

Of late the Lee Myung Bak group are hell-bent on more vicious suppression on the progressive forces for reunification movement.

As is widely known, the Lee Myung Bak group stirred up rows of recklessly searching and capturing papers for 25 places including the offices of the Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration in Seoul, Pusan, Kwangju, Gyonggi Province and Jeju Island and its affiliated June 15 Publishing House, June 15 School and June 15 TV.

That day the puppet security authorities, under the unreasonable pretext of having admired the Juche idea and the north´s system and spread north´s propaganda as it is, searched the houses of leading members of the organization, took to the police station the chairman of the executive committee and other ex- and incumbent leading members, six in all, and a member of the youth and student headquarters of the Southside Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration on charges of violation of the "National Security Law" and force them to admit that they have worked under the "North´s order"

Suppression on the solidarity which has worked legally and its core members on charges of violation of the NSL indicates that the tyranny of the Lee Myung Bak regime has entered onto a very critical phase of eradicating the progressive movement forces for reunification and reviving fascist despotism in south Korea.

The Northside Committee pungently denounces the Lee group´s fascist suppression on the progressive movement forces for reunification, branding it as an open challenge to the aspiration of the south Koreans for independence, democracy and reunification and an intolerable anti-nation, anti-reunification criminal action checking the trend of the era towards independent reunification and peace and prosperity and pushing the inter-Korean relations to rupture.

Admiration and propaganda for the Juche idea and the north´s system and the work under the "north´s order" that the Lee group put forward as its main pretext of suppression on the solidarity is an utterly unreasonable sophism and a childish trick that can never be criminalized.

Today the Juche idea is winning absolute sympathy and support from the mankind for it reflects correctly the requirement of the era and masses aspiring after independence and learning after the Juche idea becomes the trend of the times.

The moves of the Lee Myung Bak regime to charge the admiration and propaganda of the Juche idea as a crime is none other than the most barbarous human rights violation obliterating the ideology and ism the south Koreans cherish.

It is an unbearable insult and mockery that the Lee group cracks down the south Koreans´ massive anti-US struggle and reunification movement for a new independent politics and a new life as the actions under the "north´s order".

All the facts show that the Lee group´s suppression on the progressive movement forces for reunification including the solidarity is an undisguised fascist whirlwind to quell the pro-north atmosphere and rationalize its anti-DPRK confrontation attempts and that the Lee group is a very hysteria group surpassing the past military dictators.

Due to the Lee Myung Bak group´s arbitrariness and suppression south Korea today is falling to the dark land of fascism and the barren land of human rights.

It is obvious to everyone that if the Lee Myung Bak group remains as it is, independent reunification movement in the south will be ruthlessly trampled down and the fascist dictatorial system be revived and the entire nation meet with disaster.

The south Korean people should correctly see through the created situation and come out in the struggle to do away with the Lee Myung Bak reactionary group hell-bent on sycophancy, fascist suppression and confrontation with the compatriots.
