Children are the future of the country and successors to the revolution.

President Kim Il Song put forward children as the “kings” of the country, provided them with everything good and took all measures to bring them up to be healthy.

He saw to it that rice powder, fish meal, kelp powder, fruit powder, vegetable powder, nutritive milk and other protective foods were produced and supplied to children.

He took steps to set up the production base of soya milk and supply soya milk to children in 1980s.

The leader Kim Jong Il took an active measure to produce soya milk on a full scale and supply it to all the children in the 1990s.

In October Juche 79(1990) and in the early period of next year he assigned officials to a task of buying a complete set of production equipment of soya milk and saw that a special plane flew to carry it in through the shortest route.

Thanks to his repeated concern and solicitude updated production facilities were installed at the Pyongyang Children’s Foodstuff Factory, garages to specialize transport of soya milk were built near it where dozens of lorries, transport casks and utensils were amply provided.

And a well-regulated system of providing raw materials necessary for the production of soya milk including soybeans and powdered sugar on a priority basis was set up.

As a result, all the children at the nurseries, kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools in Pyongyang began to be provided with soya milk every day.

Kim Jong Il paid deep attention to every detail such as supplying soya milk on the day of production and enabling soya milk lorries to take all the car routes so that all the children in the city could be provided with soya milk in time.

So even if children happened to be absent because of illness or to be in hospital, they could drink soya milk every day, and even in the days of the “arduous march” and forced march when the situation of the country was so difficult, soya milk was supplied to children without a say’s interruption.

Today thanks to his benevolent care every provincial seat has an orderly production base of soya milk.

On the road of continuous Songun leadership, he provided on-the-spot guidance to the Pyongyang Children’s Foodstuff Factory and provincial food factories and stressed time and again that equipment should be updated to produce soya milk more qualitatively and quantitatively and necessary raw materials provided on a top-priority basis.
