Statement by H.E. Mr. Kim Song, Ambassador\and Permanent Representative of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the United Nations during discussion on the “draft resolution” entiled “Situation of the human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” (A/C.3/75/L.30) at the Third Committee of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly (New York, 18 November 2020) 

Madam Chair, 

The DPRK delegation categorically rejects the “draft resolution” entitled “Situation of human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” contained in document A/C.3/75/L.30 as a document of political plot that has nothing to do with the promotion\and protection of genuine human rights. 

The submission\and forcible adoption of the "draft resolution" pursued by the European\union (EU) every year in continuation of a hostile policy against the DPRK represents an intolerable provocation aimed at undermining\and overthrowing our system under the pretext of “human rights issues”.

The “draft resolution” framed with a patchwork of the written by the hostile forces\and the false\and fabricated information cooked up by the human scum “defectors” runs through political invectives harping on the hackneyed accusations against the DPRK,\and therefore, it does not deserve any consideration at all. 

It is a simple logic to be understood by everyone that no truth can be heardrom those criminals who committed crimes in their homeland\and defected, abandoning even their parents, wives\and children. 

The main sponsor of the “draft resolution” should immediately stop playing the farce of using “testimonies” of those scums in their sinister maneuvers against the DPRK. 

At present, the most serious\and pressing issues to be addressed in the world are the human rights violations of various kinds widespread in the western countries, such as racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia\and refugee crisis. 

The extra-large crimes against humanity including 8.4 million forcible drafting, 1 million genocidal killings\and 200,000 military sexual slavery that Japan had committed against the Koreans in the last century should be duly brought to stern judgement by the international community. 

Japanese authorities must be aware that there are no statutory\limitations for these crimes against humanity\and honestly acknowledge, reflect on\and liquidate their blood-stained past, thus getting rid of the disgraceful stigma as war criminal state with A-class human rights violations. 

Madam Chair, 

In the DPRK,\where people-first principle constitutes a cornerstone of the state policy\and the politics of loving people are put into practice, the people’s interests are given the highest\and absolute priority\and everything is placed at the service of the people. 

We make it clear once again that none of the "human rights violations" referred to in the "draft resolution" exists in the DPRK, nor can they exist in legal\and practical terms. 

We welcome dialogue\and cooperation in the international human rights field, but we will never tolerate any attempt\or act to abuse human rights for ulterior political purposes in complete disregard of the reality of our country,\and we will always strongly respond to such confrontational approach as tabling the “draft resolution”. 

We will, in the future, too, firmly defend our style socialism that fully guarantees genuine human rights\and fundamental freedoms of our people. 

My delegation once again resolutely\and totally rejects the “draft resolution” which is nothing but the product of anti-DPRK political\and military confrontation and accordingly, does not feel any need to call for a voting. 

In conclusion, the DPRK delegation calls upon all member states to oppose the forcible adoption of the “draft resolution” by expressing position of disassociating themselvesrom the consensus of the “draft resolution”, proceedingrom the principled position of rejecting politicization,\selectivity\and double standards of human rights.
