Struggle for National Reunification

under Banner of Inter-Korean Declarations Urged

 

 

The Juche-based reunification line and policy call for opening a road to the reunification of Korea through maintenance of national independence, great national unity and peace and by means of federation while holding fast to the three charters for national reunification. They are the most reasonable and aboveboard milestone for reunification, as they reflect the will and demands of all Koreans and the specific conditions of the country, and an important program ensuring a rosy future of the nation and indicating a shortcut to building a reunified powerful nation.

 

Kim Wan Su, chairman of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, stressed this in a statement on May 22.

 

The statement said:

 

In his historic report at the Seventh Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, respected Marshal Kim Jong Unrecalled that President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il advanced the outstanding ideas and lines of independent reunification and fair proposals to reunify the country in the period under review and laid firm foundations for its independent reunification and peaceful prosperity. And he expressed his unshakable faith and will to defend and add luster to the great leaders’ immortal exploits and surely achieve the national historic cause of reunifying the country true to their lifelong intention and behests.

 

To respect and honestly implement the north-south joint declaration is a prerequisite to developing the north-south relations and bringing earlier the national reunification. There is nothing to fear in the world and nothing impossible to do when the north and the south pool their will and efforts.

 

With confidence in victory and optimism, all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad will turn out in the patriotic reunification struggle to implement the three principles of national reunification and the north-south joint declarations and thus surely build a reunified powerful country, dignified, peaceful and prosperous.
